Our Rexburg Trip

We met up with Brent's sister Taya and the kids for a very fun weekend a couple weeks ago.  It was so much fun to play with our spunky niece Elle, and adorable nephew, Jack.   

Elle got to go on a four wheeler ride with Uncle Brent.  She was so cute, Brent told her she couldn't ride until she had a helmet on and this was her response...

She won.                             

After their ride we went to the Rex for bowling. 

It was Elle's first time and she had a great time...
My favorite part was hanging out with Jack.  It's totally obvious he had a good time with me too, look at that smile! :)  (I'm such a good aunt!)

It's that crazy Uncle Brent again!!

Oh yeah, the best part was Elle beat us all.  Especially me. I did awful both times, I think I barely cut 60.  This is why I  spectate when it comes to any kind of sports... I get beat by 3-year-olds.  

We had such a great time with the Sigg family! We can't wait to invade their living space in November for Thanksgiving!!

Guess who's 24!!

It's meeeee! One year older and wiser (debatable )...
Brent surprised me with 24 cupcakes, AND flowers, so very thoughtful.  He also took me shopping and took me out to a really good restaurant called Reef that's downtown.  Their Coconut Chicken is to DIE for!! Their Bali Pad Thai-I found out makes you die, it was so spicy I couldn't eat it so I had Brent's coconut Chicken.  I wussed out, I know. I'm trying really hard to love spicy food, but I'm just not there yet!

What's been happening the last month... Beware, LOTS of Pics :)

I do realize that I have skipped out on August CoMpLeTeLy...whoops! BUT I now will make up for it by dedicating this entire blog entry to last month.  So we'll start at the very beginning:

Brent's Birthday: 8/3 

numero 27-o....

Sadly he had to work on his birthday... like he always does.  But we still managed to pull out a few birthday strings for him:

He had a hard time blowing out all his candles since there were so many... it took us forever to light them all (as you can see from the picture below)  I made my BTS cake for him (and I know it looks really sad-I hadn't made it in a while, but it still tasted very WoNdErFuL! :)  

I got him a bike for his birthday, even tho he desperately wanted to get the iphone...

I know, I'm such a lame-o wife... BUT -our contract doesn't end until November so I told him if he really wants it, he can wait a couple more months...

McCall: 

Once every year or so my Aunt and Uncle invite us go up to McCall which is about 2 hours up into the mountains.  We always have such a fun time up there, just hanging out and eating-a bunch!  

One of our favorite places to eat is the Pancake and Christmas House,  where they have a little shop that has Christmas stuff all year long! It is soooooooo yummy!

This year Brent got a kickboat from his dad (his new love) and brought it up to spend half a day fishing at  the Little Payette Lake.  Later on that day we all went up and roamed around throwing rocks in the lake and I took a few pictures here and there around the lake...

did I mention it was freeeeezing up there? It barely got above 60 degrees...in AUGUST! 

AND! we climbed a really big rock!

Fun, fun stuff!

So while Brent's been out fishing...this is what I have been up to...

I saw this magnetic board displayed at Porter's and I had to make it!  But once I made it I thought that it wasn't very convenient to bring to church or for a car ride so I decided to make my own:

I also made my first rag quilt which turned out SuPeR FrIcKin' CuTe!!!! I was very happy with it and was actually quite impressed with myself... 

Then there was the fair.....

I really don't like the fair. There's nothing appetizing about it: long lines, greasy- overpriced food, long lines, weird people, long lines, weird carnies, weird things that people waste their money on, plus the fact that the rides come on a truck bed and have to be assembled on site really freaks me out. But Brent took me on the ferris wheel so I was happy.

The Puppies: well, puppy.

Most of Samee's puppies sold right away at 6-8 weeks so when Turk turned 10 weeks, 12 weeks, 14 weeks old, we started to think that we were stuck with him.  Not that it would have been a bad thing, but having a puppy just makes life that much more difficult-according to me... We put him in the Boise paper, the SLC paper, Zidaho.com, craigslist (even though we kept on getting kicked off!) puppyfinder.com... we tried EVERYTHING!!!  But then just about a week ago a guy that Brent works with cut a deal with Brent to trade Turk for a PS3 and 1/2 of our asking price. Which at that point I was just glad to have someone want him.  We miss our Turk-y Lurk lots but am really glad he went to a great home. So what'd we do with the money...?

 Got our carpets cleaned!!!!

They were so sick and disgusting that I had to wear flip flops 24/7. Now don't judge-we did cleaned up after the messes, but we went though so much carpet cleaner that we started using our OxyClean on everything and that left white spots everywhere... ick right?

But now, I can walk all over with no worries. And the smell and the stains of our puppies are now but a mere memory of months past.  It was a great experience, one that was really hard on our schedules, hard on Samee, and one that I don't think we're ready to do again for a long time...

Also to treat Samee for putting up with us through these past four months we got her a new collar and two new beds that she doesn't have to share.

And that, in a nutshell was our crazy, fast and furious month of August.  I seriously can't believe it's September already-this year has really flown by way too fast!
